Medical underwriting

\ˈmɛdəkəl\ \ˈʌndərˈraɪtɪŋ\

The process of obtaining medical or health information for a given population to give a better estimate of how long they will live.

As time passes from the underwriting exercise, less reliance can be placed on the information gathered, so it may be necessary or desirable to repeat the underwriting process periodically to maintain an accurate longevity estimate.
