Hosmer & Lemeshow (H&L) test

\ Hosmer \ & \ Lemeshow \ (eɪʧ&ɛl) \ tɛst \

A goodness of fit model often used in longevity modelling.

Often used in conjunction with another goodness of fit models such as the Akaike Information Criterion or the Bayesian Information Criterion, the H&L test offers additional insights into the appropriateness of a given model by examining specific covariate/risk profiles as opposed to the model as a whole. The test is particularly useful when there are two or more candidate models identified.
