Douglas is the Founder and Chief Visionary Officer of Club Vita, specializing in applying modern data science techniques to innovate in longevity and mortality risk management. Douglas has a background in pension consulting in which he has over 30 years of experience leading to the creation of Club Vita to solve many of the problems he encountered with his clients.

Steven Baxter FIA

Steven is Club Vita’s chief data scientist and is the driver of our serial innovation. He leads our product development and delivery through research and innovation with a multi-disciplinary team analyzing predictors and emerging trends of mortality rates and the implications of longevity risk for pension plans and insurers. ​He is passionate about the longevity market, having worked on many innovative transactions including the first UK pension plan longevity swap to leverage a sponsor owned insurance vehicle. ​

​Erik Pickett PhD FIA CERA

Erik leads the dissemination of Club Vita’s insights and analytics. He began his career as a mathematician, working at a number of universities around Europe, while moonlighting as a part time street performer. He transitioned to the world of actuarial science in 2011, retaining his passion for engaging communication, training first as a pensions actuary with Mercer and Hymans Robertson and later specializing in longevity analytics with Club Vita.​

Michael Reid

As Head of Pensions for North America, Mike’s primary focus is to implement Club Vita’s vision of improving access to cutting edge data-science tools and techniques in the North American pensions market. His role involves supporting Club Vita’s pension fund subscribers and licenced pension advisers in understanding, quantifying, and managing longevity risk. Mike joined Club Vita in 2022 bringing with him 20+ years of experience in the pension industry in a wide variety of roles. In his spare time, Mike enjoys running, yoga, cooking, and a good glass of wine.

Natalie Gleed

Natalie is a life actuary with over 20 years of experience. She spent the first 10 plus years of her career in the UK, and the most recent 11 have been in the US. Natalie joined Club Vita in 2023 as head of business development; before that she was a client manager at Swiss Re looking after some of the largest Global clients. She has also worked in EY’s actuarial life practice and started her actuarial training with AXA. Natalie lives in Brooklyn, New York, and in her spare time, she's an avid runner and has completed multiple marathons.

Katherine Pelletier

Katherine is a seasoned actuary with more than 18 years of experience in the Canadian DB pension industry. In charge of leading the Canadian Operations Team, Katherine oversees the quality assessment process of Club member data, performs experience analyses, and prepares detailed longevity analytics reporting. Beyond work, Katherine enjoys reading, running, and exploring new destinations around the world.

Shantel Aris

Shantel joined Club Vita in January 2021 to focus on supporting Club Vita’s Canadian and international research initiatives through longevity modelling and experience analysis work. Shantel has a diverse actuarial and statistical background with over 5 years of pension, insurance, and reinsurance experience and has published a number of actuarial research papers. She started her career in pension administration in Jamaica before moving to Canada in 2015, achieving a master’s degree from the University of Waterloo, and then spearheading longevity analytics and research at RBC Insurance to support the pricing of annuity reinsurance contracts.

Samantha Boettcher

As a Marketing Assistant, Samantha engages with Club Vita’s community through the company’s website, social media, and emails. Samantha also coordinates with the team to ensure that Club Vita remains top of mind when it comes to longevity risk analysis including appearances at events and conference. Samantha has a background in digital marketing and event management. When not researching marketing trends, you can find Samantha crocheting or building a Lego set.
