This is a video recording of a webinar we held in October 2023

Day-to-day life in Canada seems to have largely returned to "normal", with most public health precautions introduced to combat COVID-19 now being dropped. However, 2022 saw excess death levels almost double compared to 2021 levels, surpassing US excess deaths for the first time since the beginning of the pandemic.

What is causing these excess deaths? Are they all still due to COVID? Are there other significant drivers contributing to recent excess mortality?

More importantly to those trying to understand future longevity: Will the pattern continue? And Is 2022 mortality data representative of the future?

Replay our discussion with our panel of industry experts as they presented their views and findings on this subject, debated what’s causing these excess deaths, and shared their expectations for the future.
