In the first video of our series Douglas Anderson, Founder and Chief Visionary Officer of Club Vita is interviewed by Mike Kreps, Groom Law Group, to find out 'What is Club Vita?'.
Douglas explains that Club Vita is not a health club, but actually a longevity experience data sharing club. Club Vita pools data together from all its supporters, applies big data statistical techniques on the pooled data set and plays back the results to individual pension plans to allow them to better understand their longevity risk and make the whole pension system more secure.
Douglas goes on to describe the inspiration for starting Club Vita in the UK in 2008 and its subsequent expansion into Canada in 2015 and the US in 2019.
The longevity data Club Vita provides to its supporters can help with decision making, understanding the patterns of retirement and the differences between their plan participants and other plan participants. It can help make the whole pension system more secure.
Club Vita is a unique organization which brings together pension plans and other industry stakeholders from all over the country to better understand longevity risk. On our travels we get asked many interesting questions: Is longevity risk actually important? Have we reached the limit of life expectancy? Is Club Vita a night club / sports team / all-inclusive holiday company?
Here our team answer some of the more frequent questions we are asked. If you have more questions that we haven’t covered, please get in touch.
