This is a video recording of a webinar we held in February 2023

2022 ended up being another unusual year for UK mortality. We again saw more deaths in the UK than expected under pre-pandemic projections, with these ‘excess deaths’ observed in the summer months and through to the end of the year. However, the number of deaths mentioning COVID-19 was relatively low.

What is causing the excess deaths? Will the pattern continue? Is 2022 mortality data representative of future?

Our panel of industry experts will presented their views and findings on this subject, debated what’s causing these excess deaths, and shared their expectations for the future. Questions from the audience were also addressed throughout the session.
